Moreen Mefferd, Legal Assistant to Mr. Vogel, is from Des Moines , Iowa , where she graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1970. She attended both Drake University and the University of Northern Iowa before embarking on her twenty plus year career with the Internal Revenue Service in 1973. While working for the IRS, she held various positions as Tax Auditor, Taxpayer Service Specialist, and hold managerial positions in the Taxpayer Service Division for the last eight years of her employment with the IRS.

Koreen moved to the Valley in 1994. She has been involved in various community and civic organizations, holding officer positions with both the American Legion Auxiliary in La Feria and the RV/Mobile Home Owners Association before associating with the Law Office of C. David Vogel in September 2001. Koreen now serves as Recording Secretary for the Rio Grande Valley Regional Alzheimer's Council and has served as Secretary of the Friends of the La Feria Fire Fighters. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of La Feria and serves on its Administrative Council
